Password page

The page visitors see while your store is password-protected — before launch, or during a private rework. Uisce treats it as a launch gate, not a barrier: your logo and your preset's hand-drawn artwork and voice set the tone, a real countdown ticks down to your opening date, and an email capture turns early visitors into subscribers so nobody who found you too early is lost. The password form, country/language selectors, and your social links complete the page.

How it works

The password template ships with this section in place; it appears automatically whenever your store's password protection is on (Online Store → Preferences). Top to bottom: your logo (or shop name), the "Opening soon" heading, your preset's voiced line, the artwork, the countdown, the password form, the newsletter capture, the country/language selectors, and your social links — with the logo, artwork, countdown, newsletter capture, social links, and selectors each individually switchable.

The countdown only appears once you pick an opening date in the section's Open year / month / day / time dropdowns. No date means no countdown — the theme never shows fake urgency. When a visitor asks for reduced motion, the ticking grid is replaced by a static opening date — same information, nothing moving. Anything you type in Shopify's own "password page message" box (Preferences → Password protection) also appears, above the artwork.

The newsletter form is the same capture used in the footer, and it tags subscribers from this page.

Section settings

Show social links	Icons for the social profiles set in Theme settings; hidden automatically if none are set.
Show localization form	Country/region and language selectors, for stores selling in more than one market before launch. On a store with a single market and a single language it renders nothing at all — there is no choice to offer — so the toggle can stay on without leaving a gap.

Responsive & accessibility

• A calm centered gate at every size — comfortable column width on desktop, and on a phone the countdown wraps from one row of four into a 2×2 grid so the digits stay large.
• Reduced motion shows a static opening date instead of the ticker — visitors who ask their device for less motion get the same date as plain text, with nothing updating every second.
• The countdown is a labelled timer that stays quiet — screen readers can read the remaining time on demand (it is labelled "Opens"), but nothing re-announces the ticking seconds. Its digits render in the visitor's own numeral system (locale-aware).
• The artwork is decorative (aria-hidden); the heading receives focus when the page loads, and the skip link moves focus to the main region; the password field is a labelled form with a clear error message on a wrong password.
• Works without JavaScript — the opening date still renders as plain text when scripts are unavailable.
• Right-to-left ready — the gate mirrors correctly in Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, and Urdu.

Tips

• No date, no countdown — by design. Set the Open year / month / day / time only when your launch date is real; the theme will never invent urgency.
• Turn the newsletter capture on before launch. The gate is often your first traffic — capture it. Subscribers from this page are tagged so you can greet them at launch.
• Use Shopify's password-message box for temporary notes ("Back Friday for our launch") — it needs no theme edit and appears right in the gate.
• Add your social links in Theme settings so early visitors have somewhere to follow; the row hides itself if none are set.
