Appearance
Footer
The strip at the bottom of every page — your link columns, newsletter signup, social icons, legal links, and payment marks. It automatically shows your store policies (privacy, refunds, shipping, terms) with no setup, and the same bottom bar carries the country/region and language pickers, a Privacy preferences button when a cookie banner is active, and the payment marks your store accepts.
You compose it from blocks in the theme editor — add a Link column for each menu, a Newsletter block for email signup, and a Legal links block for EU information pages.
Try it
Pick a preset and watch the footer's closing signature change — the top edge, the column headings, and the link hovers are each preset's own. Change the settings and the preview updates; use the screen-size buttons and the light/dark toggle to check every mode.

Links to the policies you publish in Shopify admin appear here automatically.
Lets shoppers choose their country or region to see local pricing and currency. Requires markets set up in Shopify.
Lets shoppers browse prices in another currency. Requires multiple currencies set up in your Shopify markets.
Lets shoppers switch the storefront language. Requires published languages set up in Shopify.

Color scheme is a real Footer-section setting too — in this demo the preset switcher and the light/dark toggle drive the palette instead, so every preset's shipped shoreline shows on its true surface. The currency selector shares the country/region control (the currency shows inside that pill), exactly as on the storefront. The Privacy preferences button is shown here as if a cookie-consent banner were active — on a live store it appears automatically only when the merchant's consent surface is available, and stays hidden otherwise.
Footer preview
Uisce — the sea-glass shoreline: the header’s luminous waterline returns along the footer’s top edge over a frosted mist wash, and link hovers take the sea-glass ink.
The blocks
The footer holds up to 8 blocks. Link columns render first as a grid; every other block follows in the order you set.
| Block | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Link column | A heading plus one of your navigation menus. Add one block per column — each needs its own menu. |
| Text | A heading and rich-text paragraph — your brand promise, opening hours, or a local-trust note. |
| Image | A logo, certification, or award mark with alt text and a maximum width. |
| Social links | Icons for X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Pinterest. The links themselves come from Theme settings → Social media — only platforms with a URL appear. |
| Newsletter | The email signup form, with an "Unsubscribe anytime." reassurance note built in — subscribing is the consent, so there's no extra checkbox to tick. Subscribers land in your Shopify customer list. |
| Legal links | A heading plus fixed, pre-labelled links for EU information pages — right of withdrawal, model withdrawal form, imprint, returns and refunds, VAT and invoices, complaints, shipping restrictions. Fill only the URLs you have — empty fields render nothing. |
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Color scheme | Colors the whole footer. Each preset ships its own signature top edge on top of the scheme. |
| Show policy links | The automatic policy row — privacy, refunds, shipping, terms, subscription. Only policies you've published in Shopify admin appear. |
| Show country/region selector | Shows the country/region picker in the bottom bar. Each toggle controls its own picker; this one appears when your Shopify markets offer more than one country. |
| Show currency selector | Shows a currency picker when your markets offer more than one currency, and adds the currency readout beside the country name in the country pill. |
| Show language selector | Shows the language picker when your store publishes more than one language. |
| Show trust statement | A short "Secure checkout via Shopify" reassurance line beside the payment marks. |
| Show follow on Shop button | Shopify's Follow on Shop button, so shoppers can follow your store in the Shop app. |
| Top padding / Bottom padding | Breathing room above and below the footer content. |
Preset signatures
The five presets share the same footer; each closes the page in its own voice. Switch presets in the demo above to compare.
| Preset | Closing signature |
|---|---|
| Uisce | The header's luminous waterline returns as a sea-glass shoreline along the top edge, over a frosted mist wash; hovers take the sea-glass ink. |
| Gaoth | A soft amber wind-trail trims the top edge; column links grow the same drawn wind-trail as the nav underline on hover. |
| Talamh | The two-tone soil-strata (moss over terracotta) closes the page; link hovers grow a strata seam that rises from the baseline. |
| Tine | A molten heat rule runs the top edge and the link columns sit as squared forge plates; hovers take the fire ink with a faint heat bloom. |
| Neart | A calm taupe sand-stone trim and column headings set in the preset's Lora serif; hovers are a quiet vital-green underline — no glow, no urgency. |
The EU trust spine
The bottom bar is built so an EU storefront is compliant-looking by default:
- The automatic policy row and the Legal links block are additive — they never duplicate. The policy row links the policies you publish in Shopify admin; the Legal links block links your own information pages (imprint, VAT, withdrawal form). Use both.
- The withdrawal link surfaces in the footer legal area when you enable the withdrawal button in Theme settings and choose the footer placement — a weighted text link, not a marketing button.
- The Privacy preferences button appears automatically — zero setup. Whenever a cookie-consent banner is active on the store, the theme shows a button that reopens the consent preferences dialog. No banner, no button; nothing to configure either way.
Responsive, accessible, right-to-left
- Responsive — link columns stack into a single column on phones, and every column link becomes a tap target at least 44 px tall. The bottom bar wraps gracefully at any width.
- Keyboard + screen reader — each link column is a real navigation landmark named by its heading; the policy row and payment marks carry their own labels; the newsletter form announces errors and success.
- Right-to-left ready — the layout and the preset seams are built from logical CSS and flip correctly in Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, and Urdu.
- Reduced motion — the hover seam animations turn off for visitors who ask for reduced motion (the seams still show; they just don't animate).
Troubleshooting
The privacy button doesn't show. It appears only when a cookie-consent banner is active on the store — Shopify's own privacy banner or a consent app. Turn one on (Shopify admin → Settings → Customer privacy) and the button shows itself; there is no theme setting for it.
A selector toggle is on but no picker shows. The pickers only appear when there's a real choice to offer. The country/region picker needs more than one country in your Shopify markets, the currency picker more than one currency, and the language picker more than one published language. A store with one market, one currency, and one language shows none of them — that's correct, not broken.
My footer shows the same links three times. Each Link column block needs its own menu. If all three columns point at the same menu, they render the same links. Open each Link column block and pick a different menu (create them under Online Store → Navigation).
Legal links don't render. Empty URL fields render nothing — that's by design, so you never publish a dead link. Open the Legal links block and fill only the URLs you have; each filled field renders its pre-translated label.
